Facts:
● In 1979 a constitutional spending cap was voted in that limits how much tax funding a public agency like Ebbetts Pass Fire District can spend.
● Our agency needs to increase our GANN limit in order to spend the existing tax funds to continue the services we provide to the community such as fire and medical.
● This is not an increase in taxes and will not cost anything. An affirmative vote will simply allow us to spend the existing tax funding we receive to provide services.
● If not approved, we would have $750,000 less funding to provide services. This is a significant amount of funds (about 11%).
● The funding reduction would impact our ability to keep continuous
staffing--meaning downstaffing from two ambulances to one when needed.
