Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest and community involvement. In becoming a volunteer firefighter you can expect many surprises, wakeful hours, camaraderie with fellow citizens and firefighters and even some requirements for your commitment. Requirements that allow you to safely and effectively perform the emergency service duties that will be thrust upon you.

First of all, there is always that requirement of paperwork. The Ebbetts Pass Fire District requires that all prospective volunteer firefighters obtain and complete an application and informational packet. The application and packet can be obtained from the District Secretary at Station # 1 in Arnold during regular weekday business hours (8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). The application can also be obtained from the link below, printed, and filled out for your convenience. The informational packet contains additional forms that must be obtained from the District office, and include:

  1. Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9
  2. W-4 form
  3. Verification of Insurance on Private Vehicle
  4. Hepatitis B Waiver (Only if you choose NOT to obtain vaccination series)
  5. Beneficiary Designation for accident & Sickness Policy
  6. Pre-training Medical History Questionnaire (MedTox)

If you would like to meet and see the Volunteer Companies first hand before you apply, you’re welcome to attend the Volunteer Training sessions. Ebbetts Pass Fire District volunteers conduct weekly training at Station # 1 at 7:30 p.m. Applications can also be obtained at the training sessions.
